Axxess Offers Cheapest 100Mbps Uncapped Internet for South African Homes Without Fibre

MyBroadband Analysis Reveals Affordable Fixed-Wireless Packages Catering to Connectivity Needs

In a bid to bridge the digital divide and provide accessible high-speed internet to areas without fiber infrastructure, Axxess emerges as a beacon of affordability, offering the most economical 100Mbps or higher fixed-wireless packages in South Africa. A recent analysis by MyBroadband delves into the realm of connectivity options for residents residing beyond the reach of fiber networks, shedding light on viable alternatives.

While fiber optics are heralded for their reliability and cost efficiency per Mbps, the stark reality remains that fiber networks fail to blanket the entirety of South Africa, leaving swathes of the population in search of alternative internet solutions to meet their connectivity needs.

MyBroadband's comprehensive comparison delved into the realms of 100Mbps or faster fixed-4G and 5G packages, scrutinizing factors such as speed, fair usage policies (FUPs), and pricing. In a landscape where fiber packages reign supreme with uncapped data and no throttling, mobile operators are compelled to implement FUPs to safeguard their networks from performance degradation due to bandwidth saturation.

Axxess emerges as a frontrunner in affordability, offering the cheapest fixed-wireless packages tailored for households without fiber access. Among the standout offerings is Axxess' uncapped Standard 5G package priced at a mere R449 per month, providing best-effort speeds up to 500Mbps with a 300GB FUP threshold, beyond which speeds are capped at 2Mbps.

The spectrum of affordability extends with Axxess' 100Mbps uncapped LTE package on MTN's network, priced at R549 monthly. This package delivers speeds of up to 100Mbps, accompanied by a 400GB FUP threshold before experiencing a reduction to 2Mbps.

For residents seeking higher bandwidth options, Axxess presents a 200Mbps uncapped LTE package for just R50 more per month, equipped with a 600GB FUP threshold.

Notably, Rain distinguishes itself by eschewing FUPs entirely, offering the Rain One package at R995 per month, featuring a 100Mbps+ addon and unrestricted speeds regardless of data consumption. Furthermore, Rain's offerings include two 4G SIMs for mobile devices, enhancing connectivity on multiple fronts.

While Telkom's fixed-5G packages boast impressive bandwidth capabilities, they come at a premium, requiring customers to commit to a two-year contract. Telkom's offerings, priced at R1,129 and R1,229 per month respectively, feature FUP thresholds of 1TB and 2TB, with speed reductions following data consumption beyond the allocated limit.

In essence, Axxess emerges as a harbinger of accessible high-speed internet for households deprived of fiber connectivity. With competitive pricing and commendable bandwidth offerings, Axxess, alongside Rain, presents a compelling solution for bridging the digital gap in South Africa's connectivity landscape.
