In a stunning display of endurance and skill, Mokulubete Makatisi clinched victory in the women's half marathon event at the Two Oceans Marathon with an impressive time of 1:13:52. Her teammate, Malineo Mahloko, demonstrated remarkable prowess as well, securing the fourth position with a commendable time of 1:20:56. Makatisi's triumph comes hot on the heels of her stellar performance at the African Games, where she claimed fifth place in the half marathon and set a new national record in the 10km event with a blazing time of 32:05 in Gqeberha just last weekend. Fueling the nation's Olympic dreams, Makatisi is poised to jet off to Europe in pursuit of securing an Olympic qualifying time.

In the men's half-marathon category, Kamohelo Mofolo captured second place, crossing the finish line in a commendable time of 1:05:32, closely followed by Jobo Khatoane, who claimed fourth place with a time of 1:06:45.

Basotho athletes demonstrated their mettle in the grueling 56km Two Oceans Marathon, with Teboho Noosi, Kabelo Lesia, and Seutloali Khoarahlane leading the charge at various junctures of the arduous course. Ultimately, it was Lebello Mopenyane who emerged triumphant, securing the fourth position with an impressive time of 03:11:21. Seasoned athlete and former event champion, Lebenya Nkoka, showcased his enduring prowess, finishing in sixth place with a time of 03:12:33, while Seutloali Khoarahlane clinched the eighth position, further bolstering Lesotho's medal tally.

Currently honing his skills at a training camp alongside his coach, James McKirdy, in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Ramakongoana's remarkable performance in the highly competitive race earned him a commendable ninth-place finish.

The resounding success of Basotho athletes on both local and international fronts underscores the unwavering determination, resilience, and talent prevalent within Lesotho's sporting community.
