BLOEMFONTEIN, MAY 17, 2024 - The Thusong Clinics Outreach team has announced an impactful campaign aimed at providing essential healthcare services to residents of Phase 2, Ward 9 in Mangaung. The campaign, set to launch in June, focuses on assisting older individuals and those with limited mobility who face challenges accessing healthcare facilities.
In a meeting held in Phase 2, representatives from the community and healthcare sectors gathered to discuss the upcoming initiative. Ms. Katleho Ntombinale Kokoropo, a spokesperson for the Thusong Clinics Outreach team, shared insights into the programs planned for the community.
"This campaign is all about bringing basic health services to the community of Ward 9 and nearby areas," said Ms. Kokoropo. "The members of this community have been asking for a clinic in their ward for years, as the clinics surrounding them are too far. Bringing a mobile clinic to the ward at least every three months is a step in the right direction."
The mobile clinic will provide a range of services including general health check-ups, chronic disease management, vaccinations, and health education. By reducing the distance to essential health services, the initiative aims to improve the overall health and well-being of the residents, particularly the elderly and those with limited transportation options.
Community members have expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, highlighting the significant impact it will have on their lives. The campaign not only promises to deliver necessary healthcare services but also aims to foster a sense of community support and well-being.
The Thusong Clinics Outreach team encourages all residents of Ward 9 and surrounding areas to participate in the campaign and take advantage of the healthcare services provided. This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and ensuring that no one is left behind due to geographical barriers.
For more information on the campaign and the schedule of the mobile clinic, residents are advised to follow local announcements and community boards.
